Tobi Sznajderman

The daughter of painter, Marius Sznajderman, and journalist, Suzanne Messing, Tobi Sznajderman was raised in an especially creative environment. Surrounded by a community of artists, Sznajderman was motivated to study Metalsmithing at the School for American Craftsman, Rochester Institute of Technology, receiving her BFA in 1985. After graduation, Sznajderman apprenticed under several different goldsmiths as she developed her own line of fashion and bridal jewelry, launching her company in 1998. Sznajderman designs fluidly, fabricating from an impulsive creative process, and is inspired by the effect of contrasting textures and colors. Sznajderman states, "Precious metals are my palette, the hammer my paintbrush. My work must be more than a technical accomplishment. It must have rhythm and it must tell a story to be truly complete."
