Peter Chapman cultivated a fascination with woodworking and intricate joinery early in his artistic career. He first began working with wood under his apprenticeship to George Nakashima. After establishing his own studio, Peter developed an unparalleled technique of sculpting and cutting a single piece of wood into three dimensional interlocking puzzles. Peter creates a collection of three-dimensional animal and reptilian puzzles out of various domestic and exotic hard woods. The artist's sense of humor is reflected in the fact that each puzzle has a surprise inside! These whimsical puzzles will be enjoyed by all ages and are sure to be a conversation piece. Peter designs and creates his puzzles in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
