KORISSA
KORISSA's journey started when Angela, co-founder of the business, left New York for Bangladesh to work for her family business in 2017. While there, she met Nora, a social entrepreneur working for a non-governmental and World Fair Trade organization that is committed to alleviating poverty, increasing social responsibility through fair trade, and strengthening the personal skills of the women who suffered gender violence in the slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Nora and Angela founded KORISSA with the goal of offering environmentally and socially responsible handmade goods by building sustainable relationships with their artisans and working to provide them access to fair wages, broader markets, and secure, sustainable livelihoods.
