Loy Allen

Loy Allen’s love of glass started in the early 1970s. She learned the basics of lampworking in her native South Dakota and pursued her glass studies at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina and The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. Her work has been exhibited in numerous shows and featured in various prestigious publications. Loy's beautiful wall and freestanding sculptures resonate with the natural world. She couples floral glass forms with metalwork stems and bases to lend color and textural contrast. Loy's work “evokes the mystery and power of nature in a feminine, celebratory voice.”
